Chris Mattice is a seasoned executive and customer service expert with over two decades of transformative leadership experience in high-growth companies. For over 11 years, Chris has been Chief Operating Officer and Chief Financial Officer at Zappos. In his dual executive role, he has driven double-digit top-line growth while reducing operational headcount by 60%, resulting in record-breaking profitability, including a 700bps improvement in operating margins.
His primary business functions span overseeing the end-to-end customer experience with Customer Loyalty team, Finance, Strategy & Analytics, Supply Chain & Operations, Pricing, Imaging, Catalog & New Item Setup, as well as FBA Operations and brand's outlet stores. He has been pivotal in shaping Zappos’ reputation for a best-in-class customer experience through initiatives like implementing a best-in-class pricing system to optimize customer acquisition and lifetime value. Chris also co-leads Zappos @ Work - the company’s fastest-growing and most profitable business unit.
Prior to Zappos, Chris was a founding member of Acclarent, a medical device company transforming the ENT healthcare industry, where he led the company through multiple funding rounds, culminating in a $785M acquisition by Johnson & Johnson. While at Acclarant, Chris oversaw customer service, HR, IT, operations, and finance departments.
Chris graduated from Ohio State University's College of Business before making his way out West.
