Richard Booth

Senior Venture Partner - Insurance

Richard Booth is a Senior Venture Partner at Altai Ventures. He has been an advisor to numerous insuretech companies since 2014. From 2009 until 2014, Richard was Vice Chairman of Guy Carpenter & Company, LLC, a global risk management and reinsurance specialist. From 2000 to 2007 Richard was Chairman, President and CEO of HSB Group, a specialty insurer and reinsurer. From 2008 to 2009, he served as Vice Chairman of AIG, HSB's parent company as well as Chairman of HSB Group.

Prior to this, Richard held a number of senior positions in the insurance industry including President, COO and a board member of the Travelers Corporation. He has served on a number of public company boards including Sun Life Financial, the Hanover Insurance Company and Eversource Energy.

Richard is a certified public accountant, chartered life underwriter, chartered financial consultant, a certified Board Leadership Fellow with the National Association of Corporate Directors, and a former member of the Financial Accounting Standards Advisory Council and its Steering Committee. He is also a member of the Audit Committee and the Nominating and Corporate Governance Committee.

Richard received his Bachelor's and Master's degrees from the University of Hartford Barney School.
